About our Scoresby Sound Photo-Expedition

When you visit Greenland on this photo-expedition, your imagination will come to life like never before! Your passion for photography will be ignited, and you will exult in the world you see through your lens. Greenland is home to one of the most dramatic landscapes on earth – from the vibrant reds and oranges of the glacier-carved terrain to the depthless blues of the icebergs that serenely float among the fjords. The beauty of Greenland is still wild and untouched, and you will be one of an elite group of photographers that gets to experience it in person and capture it in your photos.

Over the course of our 10-day trip to the East Coast of Greenland, we will make daily shore excursions and maximize the time we have to photograph the awe-inspiring Arctic landscape and fjords of Scoresbysund (Scoresby Sound). These fjords are home to the most incredible iceberg formations in the world. The intensity of the blue fractures in the icebergs will captivate you and provide endless variation in your photos. The light in September creates impressive shadows and teases out the most intense colors from both the land and the ice.

The beauty of this part of the world is raw and visceral and photography expeditions rarely venture here. If you’re looking for a truly unique photo experience and want to capture these unparalleled landscapes, reserve your spot today.

Greenland does not have the density of wildlife as we normally see on Svalbard, but there are good possibilities for photographing Arctic hare, seals, seabirds, and maybe also Muskox and Polar bear.

New feature: In September, the nights are coming back to Greenland. We will check the Aurora Forecast and will make night landings (weather permitting) to photograph Northern lights over the beautiful icebergs!

New feature: With this trip we are introducing our new idea to make some of our trips "DRONE FRIENDLY". Participants will be able to do plenty of shore landings with time for aerial photography and, weather permitting, will be supported with Zodiacs as a floating platform for drone launch and landing. Just imagine how beautiful the icebergs will look from the air, when bright blue underwater parts are visible!

Expedition Itinerary

The main goal of this expedition is to explore and photograph the largest, longest and most spectacular fjord system in the world - the Scoresbysund (English: Scoresby Sound). This part of Eastern Greenland is surprisingly various. Icebergs and glaciers like in Antarctica, mountains like in Patagonia, fjords like in Norway... Scoresbysund has a tree-like structure, with a main body approximately 110 km (68 miles) long that branches into a system of fjords covering an area of about 38,000 km2 (14,700 sq mi).
